I'm considering the purchase of a used 1999 Ford Escort Wagon 4 Cylinder engine and was wondering what I should expect for fuel economy in this day when local gas prices are averageing $3.05 per gallon of regular.
I have googled this question but turned up mixed answers. Some say 28/38 and others are saying 25/30. Which should I expect from a well running enging of this model?

You'd get better millage with a standard trans or (stick shift) or had motion transmission.
that is the the reason for the gap in numbers
