How much for a ford taurus 2000 transmission?

i was wondering how much it cost to put a new transmission in a ford taurus se 2000 .

plus manufactory.|||This is a trouble-prone transmission, so if you plan to keep the car, a junkyard replacment isn't the best idea.

The Genuine Ford rebuilts are the best and offer the best warranty 3yrs/36K miles. But they're also the most expensive--retail price around $2,200 PLUS installation.

Your best bet is to find a reputable local transmission shop--not one of those chain rebuilders. Look to see if they are a member of ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association). If they give you an ATRA warranty, it will be honored by any other member shop. These guys tend to know transmissions better than the chain operations.

The chains just buy rebuilts from their franchiser. The techs usually don't get into them to find out what's wrong. They just remove and replace.

If you are wanting to go cheap, go to car-part.com and look for yours. I saw one on there for as little as $150.

you can get it installed for around 300-400. maby cheaper|||it really depens on alot of things..just a automatic...cost new $650.00 ..........rebuilt $500.00 this is a good avg...|||Depends if you get a factory new or a rebuilt. Rebuilt including rebuild-able exchange could cost as much as $2,000 installed. Factory new will be about $1,000 more. Both come with warranties. Best would be to call a some shops to get quotes. Then decide.
