How would changing the solenoid in a 1987 ford Ranger cause no power?

I changed out the solenoid in my 1987 Ford Ranger, now I have no power at all. The battery shows as having full power when i check it. What could have happened. All the fuses seem to be fine as well. |||You either didn't hook the fusible links back up or have them on the wrong side of the solenoid|||check connections again or you forgot a wire.||| You either left off a wire, or the solenoid you put on is bad.|||check all the connections you removed to replace the part one my be loose or missed altogether also check if there are any main fuses under the hood i recently had to replace one on a toyota that was 75 amps if you had power before you started one of these ideas should solve the problem|||When you miss wired the hot wire, you blew a harness fuse. Rewire the solenoid and look for a burned spot in the wiring next to the starter solenoid. Probably a heavy yellow wire.

Hint: You may have included the ground wire in with the hot wires.|||more than likely you reversed the wires that go to the relay it self. some of the relays are partially polarized. if you changed location of the wires to the two large posts, you might get different results. the two that should not change are the one that goes directly to the positive terminal, and the other one goes to the starter or on some of the newer ones to a solenoid on the starter.a third rage wire can come off of the terminal that goes to the battery, the other end should go to a fuse box or something similar.
