How far away from car should my Ford Fiesta remote key fob work?

Ford Fiesta 53 plate.

I used to be able to open doors from a distance but now i have to do it stood by car.

Have changed battery.|||Perhaps surprisingly, they're only designed to work within a metre or so of the car, though they invariably have a much larger range than that. Holding the fob against your head does make a difference, it seems to use your skull as an extra aerial.

Personally, I'd invest in yet another battery, just in case the one you've inserted is dud. Make sure the contact faces are absolutely clean and don't hold the battery so your fingers touch both faces.|||Has anyone checked out:

I鈥檓 thinking of trying it cuz my friend says he gets paid 拢600 a month for driving around with a sticker on his car. Anyone tried this?|||if you are using chargable bataries you might wana change then after a while because stop working properly after some time... and that might cause your remote problem|||they say if you hold it to your head(temple)and press it, it goes twice the distance. just had to say that:)))))|||should do about 5 metre if less might be a dodgey battery or faulty fob|||why would you want to get into a fiesta? :)|||poor signal = new fob
