How will it effect Ford car owners in Britain if Ford goes bust?

My friend ownes a Ford Fiesta 2007 reg, will he be able to buy parts when needed.|||You can still buy parts for the original Model T so I wouldn't worry too much.|||erm surely a business will cash in on all of the ford owners by producing parts. it will be a huge business so dont worry =D|||YES ! no problem .|||You mean AFFECT not effect. I'm sure parts will be available for ages.|||Not one bit.

There would be such a fantastic market to support owners that only a fool would miss it.

However, I don't think Ford will be disappearing anytime soon...|||Ford are unlikely to go bust. In the very unlikely event that they DID go bust then they would probably be bought out by another manufacturer so your Fiesta 2007 parts supply is pretty well assured.|||Ford wont go bust my china!|||It'll be the same as Rover - parts will still be available for many years, but it may put people off buying new or used Ford cars. The 'it'll never happen' brigade may be surprised - in a recession, people's loyalty to brands %26amp; countries is usually overtaken by their need to buy well built %26amp; reliable cars.|||i reckon ford europe will seperate from ford usa if needs be.

ford is as much a british/europe institution as it is an american one.

it would be silly to cease production of top sellers like the fezzy, focus or mondeo.|||I highly doubt they will go bust.yes parts will be AVAILABLE

If ford parts are not made,I am sure it will be made in China somewhere!l

LOL!|||Ford is the least likely of "the big three" to go bust.

They have enough cash to bail themselves out, but it will mean they will have to make some major compromises.

GM and Chrysler... That's a different story!|||Nothing, the US government is giving the American car companies $700 billion for a bail-out, so I would not worry about them going under.|||I cannot see Ford going into administration but, if it did, in the short to medium term we should be safe.|||fiesta s only last 3 or 4 years anyways....
