What is the smallest engine size in a ford mustang?

I am considering purchasing a used Ford mustang in the UK. It could be of any age as long as it isn't too much of a gas guzzler.|||Early Pintos and Mustang II's had the German 2000 as a engine until they could get the 2300 manufactured..

Gearbox and Darrin hit it on the head, ..

I've owned 4 SVO's and they are the best 4 cylinder built by Ford...

Have you heard the expression, "Have your cake and eat it too" means the economy of a four and the power of the v8...the turbo lets the 2.3 make the same horsepower as the 5.0|||The 2011 Mustang has a 3.7L V6. It's not the smallest but it's the most powerful and fuel efficient V6 ever in a Mustang offering over 305 horsepower and 290 foot pounds of torque, and gets up to 31 mpg on the freeway.|||Both people are correct

But figure you want one in last 20 odd years.

1987-1993 2.3 4 clyinder

1994-2003 3.8 v-6

2004 3.9 v-6

2005-2010 4.0 SOHC V-6

2011 3.7 DOHC 4V v-6|||if you want power too, then look for a mustang svo... they had a 2.3 turbo engine that got decent mileage and were very reliable. the n/a 2.3 is a bit on the gutless side.|||some foxbody mustangs had 2.3l 4 cylinders ... as for newer ones a 4.0 liter v6 that would get around 25 mpg highway
